Summary
Clunch (chalky limestone), a herm of a satyr playing panpipes, probably British (English) School, probably 18th century. A herm sculpture of a horned satyr draped in a goat's fleece, playing panpipes, carved of chalky limestone. In a pair with NT 516667, a herm of a satyr blowing into a conch shell.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
