Summary
One of a pair, silver oval soup tureen and cover, on 4 scroll feet surmounted by eagles with festoons of flowers in their beaks, scroll foliage handles and gadrooned rims, domed covers chased with panels of amorini and flowers, flower and shell border and large artichoke finial. George II by Frederick Kandler 1745, liners 1803 (Wm Fearn?), engraved with 2 coats-of-arms c.1803. Label 'Crest of John Bolton and his wife Elizabeth Littledale'. Hallmarked on lid, liner and base.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
