Summary
Silver gilt vase-shaped cup and cover, circular gadrooned foot with corded reed border and spirally fluted stem, lower part of body with palm leaves, centre with 2 laurel medallions, frieze with a racing scene with the cup on the winning post, names of horses engraved above, handles chased with laurel husks, domed cover fluted with foliage border, finial as jockey holding laurel wreath. George III by John Parker and Edward Wakelin 1771. Inscription on cover 'Epsom Gold Cup 1880 28th May - Won by Mr Leopold de Rothschild's ch. f. Fashion by Favorius out of Sisto Elegance 7.4 Greaves beating Parole 9.9 Master Kildare 9.12 Rhidorroch and Solver'. 'The Beachamwell Cup, the property of Chris Blake Esq, won by Mark Antony ye Oct'r 1771'. 'Mark Antony got by Spectator dam by Blank and of Sore Heels'.

Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
