Summary
One of a pair, silver gilt vase-shaped cup and cover, square plinth with key pattern border and laurel band above, body chased with foliage and laurel festoons, 2 medallions of a racehorse and a cypher monogram HH within double twist circle surrounded by flowers and scrolls, rising scroll handles, cover chased with foliage, acorn finial, George III by Thomas Heming 1769. Inscribed 'The Second Annual Meeting, Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, Bart, President, Nov'r 1769, Won by Brown George'. 'BYDDED RHWYMYN TANGNEFFED OM HAMGYLCH' with engraving of racehorse.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
