Oil painting on board, Female Nude standing, by William Etty RA (York 1787 – York 1849). Nude young female, full-length, turned three-quarters to left, the weight on her right leg, her left leg slightly behind, gazing downwards, short hair, both arm down, hands clasped together, leaning against a stand covered with a cloth on which is written Landseer No. 2 / Decr 1839.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
