Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, Sir Jeffry Wyatville, RA (1766–1840) William Grimaldi (Shoreditch 1751 – London 1830). 1828. Oval. Half-length portrait of a man, turned to left, facing, gazing at spectator, wearing a high-collared grey silk coat, with large grey silk-covered buttons, over a white lacy shirt; powdered hair (or wig) a red curtain covering three-quarters of the back, leaving an opening at the centre left, to show a view of Windsor Castle in the background with the Royal Standard flying over the Round Tower.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
