Portrait miniature of Queen Elizabeth I, wearing pink dress, high ruff and small crown. Oval in gilt frame. English School, C18. No.4 in Guide 'Queen Elizabeth. A miniature probably of the early C18 and similar to one in the Duke of Buccleuch's collection. Artist unknown'. Catalogue entry 'Queen Elizabeth in elaborate dress, with high ruff, small crown and stomacher, festooned with pearls, half length, facing. C18'.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
