Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Two Greyhounds and a Dead Hare by John E. Ferneley (Thrussington 1782 – Melton Mowbray 1860), signed and dated 1824. Two greyhounds in the foreground, facing each other, the brown one of the left lying down the white and tan one on the right standing, both with their tongues hanging out, between them is a dead hare which they have just killed, open sandy scrubland, a small shrub behind the dog on the left, extensive views, blue sky with clouds

Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
