Summary
Oil painting on panel, Hunting Scene of Huntsmen casting Hounds by Richard Barrett Davis (Watford 1782 – Kensington 1854). Huntsman on a white horse, riding to the right, the huntsman looking down, his top hat in his right hand, hunting dogs surrounding him, all sniffing the earth, distant shrub landscape, with a further huntsman seen on the far right, blue sky with clouds.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
