Summary
Oil painting on panel, Woodcock Shooting, one Gun with a Dog by Samuel John Egbert Jones (fl.1820 – 1855). Landscape of shrubs and gnarled trees with birches, sky with clouds, to the left centre a huntsman wearing a grey coat and black top-hat, carrying a gun with two dogs chasing a woodcock on the right. Another man with a gun follows from the left background.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
