Summary
Gold clock watch, chinese movement, white enamel dial and plain gold case. On tortoiseshell and ebony stand, by Breguet. 30 hour French grande sonnerie striking, centre seconds chaise watch on gold open face case, signed Breguet, No.650 (M.B.) c.1880. Engraved gilt brass movement with twin going barrels. Duplex escapement with blued steel, flat spiral balance spring and bi-metallic compensation balance with gold screws. Rack grande/petite sonnerie quarter striking on two gongs (no quarters at the hour on Grande Sonnerie). Convex white enamel dial with Roman numerals. Signed Breguet below XII. Blue steel Breguet hands and centre seconds hand. Heavy gold open face case with G/son P/son slide at left and Strike/Silent slide at right. Trefoil bow and push piece for opening the back at the top. Inner dome engraved 'Repasse par Breguet No.650 M.B.'. Winding squares for striking going and hand setting through dome. Steel push piece to open dome at bottom edge (IX side).

Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
