Summary
One of a pair of black lacquer small cabinets decorated with chinoiseries in gilt, wide gilt vermillion borders, two doors enclosing numerous drawers with hammered gilt metal fittings. On a contemporary giltwood stand, friezes carved with foliage and petals, cabriole legs carved at the knees with foliage, claw and ball feet. The cabinet is Chinese, early 18th Century; the stand is English, 1725-1775.

Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
