Summary
A pair of black lacquer cabinets on giltwood stands, the cabinets Chinese, late 17th/early 18th Century, the stands Irish, mid-18th Century. The cabinet with a pair of cupboard doors enclosing and arrangement of seven drawers, the whole profusely decorated on the top, sides and front with buildings within landscapes, the drawers decorated with trailing flower stems. The stand of square form with a carved frieze and acanthus carved cabriole legs and hairy paw and ball feet.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
