A walnut chest or cassone, Spanish or Italian, late 16th / early 17th century The hinged panelled top with moulded edge above a front carved with an architectural interior view, the sides carved with similar scenes, raised on bracket feet.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
