Summary
A yew and tulipwood feather banded cabinet on chest, English, circa 1730 Made in the Japanese export style, with a pair of cupboard doors with five engraved hinges to each and with a conforming lock plate and corner brackets.The interior fitted with fifteen drawers around a cupboard door enclosing a further four drawers.The base with three long graduated drawers and raised on bracket feet.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
