Summary
marble, Chimneypiece, Dining Room, Benthall Hall. Chimneypiece, dentil border to cornice mantel shelf above frieze elaborately carved with a pomegranate (?) flanked by rinceau scrolls. Moulded surround to grey marble lintel and jambs. 1756.
Provenance
Carved by Thomas Farnolls Pritchard of Shrewsbury in 1756 and believed to original to Benthall Hall. Transferred to the ownership of the National Trust with the contents of Benthall Hall in the Deed Of Gift made by Mary Clemantina Benthall and dated 8th August 1958.
