Summary
marble, Chimneypiece, Drawing Room, Benthall Hall by Thomas Farnolls Pritchard (Shrewsbury 1723 - Shrewsbury 1777). Carved chimneypiece, repeated rosette motif to frieze below a gothick style arcaded border, jambs in the form of tapering pilasters, decorated with festoons of fruits and flowers. Painted white. Inner border of dark grey marble. 1756.
Provenance
Carved by Thomas Farnolls Pritchard of Shrewsbury in 1756 and believed to original to Benthall Hall. Transferred to the ownership of the National Trust with the contents of Benthall Hall in the Deed Of Gift made by Mary Clemantina Benthall and dated 8th August 1958.
