Summary
Small Benthall pottery ware jug, baluster-shaped body, strap handle, two tone glaze, dark brown to top half and oatmeal colour to bottom and interior. An impressed mark to the side read “SALOPIAN”. Made circa 1900.
Provenance
Believed to have been made at the Benthall/Haybook Pottery in Broseley, Shropshire circa 1900. Given to The National Trust by James Holme Benthall and his brothers Richard Pringle Benthall and Jonathan Mackenzie Benthall in August 1995.
