Summary
Benthall pottery ware vase, bulbous body, incised decoration around shoulders, tall narrow neck widening to rim. Banded and beaded borders flank arcaded design containing stylised floral motif. Salmon pink glaze against brown background. An impressed mark to the side above the base reads “SALOPIAN”. Made circa 1900.
Provenance
Believed to have been made at the Benthall/Haybook Pottery in Broseley, Shropshire circa 1900. Given to the National Trust by James Holme Benthall and his brothers Richard Pringle Benthall and Jonathan Mackenzie Benthall in August 1995.
