Summary

Dome cover surmounted by ball knob, for a large waisted pearlware chocolate cup (on separate record 509518.1). Transfer printed in underglaze blue with the Caughley 'Temple' pattern, associated flower and scale borders. Comes complete with an additional saucer, on record 509518.2. Made circa 1790.

Provenance

Made circa 1790 then offered to the National Trust in lieu of tax from Sir Paul Benthall's estate, March 1993.
