Summary
This item is a finely fluted circular tea bowl with a scalloped rim and raised on foot ring. It is hand painted with ribbon type border in green and blue enamels. It has a gilt star motif to centre and gilt edge. This item is complete with a matching saucer (509496.2). Made circa 1775 - 1799 by Caughley Porcelain Works.
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to the National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
