Summary
Circular tea bowl, shaped edge and lightly moulded body. Decorated in gilt with two encircling bands of 'crow's feet', gilt border. On a printed label, “CAUGHLEY BICENTENARY SHREWSBURY 1772-1972” along with a red circular label on top “314”. Made circa 1775 - 1799 by Caughley Porcelain Works.
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to the National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
