Summary
Teacup and circular saucer of waisted form, with moulded rim and shaped edge. French-style festoons incorporating rose-heads, slight sprig at the centre, gilt dentil edge. Made circa 1775 – 1799 by the Caughley Porcelain Works.
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to the National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
