Summary
These items compiles of a large circular fluted coffee cup with a scalloped rim, scroll handle and raised on foot ring and a matching saucer. They are hand painted with single flowers in blue, pink and yellow enamels, cornflower border around exterior rim. They have a gilt line highlighting. Made circa 1775 - 1799 by Caughley Porcelain Works.
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to The National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
