Summary
Fluted coffee cup, scalloped rim, scroll handle with thumbpiece and raised on foot ring. Printed in underglaze blue with the 'Temple' pattern (one man only) with associated scale and floral border around inner rim. Gilt highlighting. With matching saucer. Made circa 1775 - 1799 by the Caughley Porcelain Works.
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to the National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
