Summary
Miniature tea bowl (with saucer NT 509403.2), soft–paste porcelain, raised on foot ring, printed in underglaze blue with chinoiserie landscape the so-called "Island" pattern, floral motif to centre, diaper style borders around inner rim. Caughley or Salopian Porcelain Works, circa 1775–1799
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to the National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
