Summary
Inkpot, waisted cylindrical form, with a detachable central well and four pen holes around shoulder. Printed in underglaze blue with various floral sprigs contained in a cellular border. Inscribed - C (printed mark in underglaze blue on underside). 1775 - 1799 (circa), by Caughley Porcelain Works.
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to The National Trust for display at Benthall Hall..
