Summary
Saucer raised on foot ring. Comes complete with matching teabowl (509387.1). Saucer is printed in underglaze blue with the so-called "'Bridge and Windmill" pattern, shrub motif to centre, secondary landscape print, cross-hatched border around inner rim, circa 1775 - 1799. Caughley Porcelain Works.
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to the National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
