Summary
Small cabbage-leaf jug with mask-head spout and elaborate scroll handle. Printed in underglaze blue with the 'parrot and fruit' pattern, a cluster of fruit on the reverse and two floral sprays at the neck. Made circa 1775 - 1799, by the Caughley Porcelain Works.
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to The National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
