Summary
These items are a large circular pearlware vegetable dish, on low foot and a dome cover with gilt flowerhead finial, scalloped edge and gadrooned borders. They have a transfer printed in blue and over enamelled with insects amongst flowering plants. They have a gilt highlighting. Inscribed - Floral (transfer printed mark in a wreath of flowers in underglaze blue on underside of dish and cover). Made circa 1820. Part of a larger 75 piece dinner service.
Provenance
Made in England circa 1820. Owned by Miss Phoebe and Miss Rosemary Waterfield and presented by them as a gift to the National Trust at Easter 1975, for display at Benthall Hall.
