Summary
This item is a large oval pearlware serving / meat dish made by Rogers. It has a scalloped edge with gadrooned border. It also has a transfer printed in blue and over enamelled with insects amongst flowering plants. Inscribed - ROGERS 20 (impressed mark), Floral (transfer printed mark in a wreath of flowers in underglaze blue). Made circa 1820. Part of a 75 piece dinner service.
Provenance
Made in England circa 1820. Owned by Miss Phoebe and Miss Rosemary Waterfield and presented by them as a gift to the National Trust at Easter 1975, for display at Benthall Hall.
