Summary
Dessert plate, soft-paste porcelain, with fluted rim and scalloped edge, on foot ring, printed in underglaze blue with the so-called Gillyflowers and moths' pattern, honeycomb diaper Fitzhugh border around inner border, gilt highlights, printed mark in underglaze 'S' and impressed on underside 'Salopian', made by Caughley or Salopian Porcelain Works, Shropshire, circa 1795.

Transferred to Benthall Hall from the National Trust property of Hughenden, Buckinghamshire. in 1979.
