Summary
A rectangular panel/fire-screen dated 1725-50, made from undyed, unbleached linen canvas worked in cross-stitch and embroidered with silk and wool (dyed to full range). Design of a red ground with floral pattern, two urns at the base and a central pastoral scene with a male and female either side of a large urn, all blue and white ceramics.
Provenance
Breton-Tayler Collection. Given to the Trust by Mrs Winifred Breton Tayler, 11.4.2000, after remaining within the Breton family for nearly 300 years.
