Summary
A chair seat piece dated 1725-50, made from undyed, unbleached linen canvas worked in cross-stitch and embroidered with wool (dyed to full range). Design of a scene with yellow ground and floral border, with two dalmations in the centre, one white and one brown against a blue ground.
Provenance
Breton-Tayler Collection. Given to the Trust by Mrs Winifred Breton Tayler, 11.4.2000, after remaining within the Breton family for nearly 300 years.
