Summary
A pillow cover dated 1725-1750, made from undyed linen worked in cream silk flat quilting and embroidered with silks (dyed to full range) and gilt thread. To the centre a monogram with the initials 'AB' in a green circular shape with four monograms in pink circular shapes surrounding. Border with leaves and motifs of a Chinese figure in blue clothing with parasol and a blue parrot to each corner (en suite with two pillow cases and bedcover).
Provenance
Breton-Tayler Collection. Given to the Trust By Mrs Winifred Breton Tayler, 11.4.2000, after remaining within the Breton family for nearly 300 years.
