Summary
Print, engraving, The Family of Cornaro, A Noble Venetian (after Titian) by Bernard Baron (Paris c.1696 - London 1766). An engraved portrait depicting two old male figures dressed in draped cloaks lined with fur, situated on steps, which lead to an altar. The male on the left rests his hand on the altar which has an ornate cross flanked by two lit candles and an urn. Another male figure with a black beard stands behind the others with his hand to his chest. Below the altar are three boys in the bottom right and three smaller boys to the left; another boy is sitting on the steps holding a puppy. Inscribed with 'The family of CORNARO a Noble Venetian; Picture done by Titian 9 foot in breath...'.
