Summary
Print, engraving, King Charles II (1630-1685) (after Sir Peter Lely) by George Vertue (London 1684 - London 1756). Half-length, almost facing. Set in a decorative oval with fruit, draped fabric and the Royal coat-of-arms at the base. Wearing a long curled wig, lace neck tie and coat with slashed sleeves revealing a white undershirt. Adorned with a large decorative chain around his neck with a pendant of a horse. Inscribed with 'DIEU ET / MON DROIT.'.
