Summary
One of a pair of fire pumps, consisting of a metal cylindrical container painted red with bands of black decoration, standing on an axis with two wheels and a stand/brake to one side of the base. Two horizontal extending arms at the top joined by a semi-circular piece and terminating in turned wooden handles. Long lever extending across the top, also with a wooden handle. Top of the cylindrical container is concave with a pierced circle and a rubber pipe fitting.
Provenance
Original to the house. Found in the Stable Block on the estate in 2002, and moved to the house for storage.
