Summary
A seventeenth century, oak, wainscot chair, with a carved top rail (including initials and date), a carved lozenge to the chair back, ball turned legs and stretchers and curved arms.
Provenance
This chair forms part of the Straschnov Collection, received by the National trust in 1999. The collection included Medieval art, Continental and English furniture of the seventeenth and nineteenth century, silver and pictures. The collection was formed by Mr and Mrs Straschnov over a long period at their home in Geneva, Switzerland.
