Summary
A 'Gu'-shaped beaker vase from late seventeenth century China, with a flared neck, convex centre and spreading base. The vase is decorated using the Famille Vert palette of predominantly brilliant green and reds. To the neck, flowering trees and pomegranates rise from a rock garden. The body is decorated with sprays of pomegranates and peach blossom, and birds in branches adorn the lower section, above a band of reserves with pointed tops.
