Summary
Tapestry, wool and silk, An Enthroned King, Flemish, possibly Oudenaarde, c. 1600-1625. In the centre a king sits on a raised throne, holding a sceptre. To the left is a man with one hand raised to his face and a group of men behind him, and to the right two women. The tapestry has no borders. An unrelated tapestry at Canons Ashby, no. 494835.1, has the same basic design as the present tapestry with a King surrounded by figures.
