Summary
A padouk cricket table, English, late 18th/early 19th century. The circular top of two planks above plain friezes and raised on three square-section legs joined by an undertier. -- Tables such as this are usually found made of indigenous British timbers, such as oak or elm. The use of padouk is rare, and is the reason that this table is very heavy.
Provenance
Purchased by the National Trust in 1984 from West Haddon Antiques for £395.
