Oil painting on canvas, Lieutenant-General Mars by William McCall (fl.1818-1837). A head-and-shoulders portrait of an elderly man, turned slightly to the right, gazing to the right, with grey hair, wearing a black coat with a black fur collar over a scarlet uniform with gilt buttons, white shirt with upturned collar. According to a label on underside of frame: 118. LIEUT GENL MARS WHO SERVED IN THE CAMPAIGN OF 1815. McCALL.
