Full description
Flintlock gun, probably English c1800. Crudely constructed flintlock gun for sporting use. Round iron barrel, the breech with engraved decorative band formed in three thickening sections. Bead foresight, the barrel tang with sighting groove. Retained to the stock by 3 barrel pins. The Later wooden ramrod with metal tip. Barrel length 106.5cm. Calibre 16.5mm. Wooden full-stock with hand-rail form butt. Raised apron around barrel tang. Iron furniture comprising, crudely formed trigger guard and 1 ramrod pipe. Trigger of crude form. Constructed without a butt plate. Flintlock, the flat plate crudely engraved, without signature. Retained to the stock by 2 sidenails (1 replaced). Overall length: 146cm
