Summary
Eight day English tavern clock in black japanned case, by Kinson Abrey, (place illegible) c.1750. Single, five-wheel train, four-pillar movement with anchor escapement. Octagonal dial with gilt roman numerals and arabic five-minute figures. Signed on lower part of the bevelled edge: “Kinson Abrey, xx” (illegible). Brass spade hands, the minute hand with counterweight. Black japanned pine case with straight trunk below dial and with a swollen base to accommodate pendulum bob. Access door to the right hand side of the trunk.
