Summary
Oil painting on canvas, a portrait of William Crane Blathwayt (1795-1839), by Thomas Phillips, RA (Dudley 1770 – London 1845), 1832. A half-length portrait of the son of Jeremiah Pierce Crane and Penelope Blathwayt, who was brought up by William IV Blathwayt and Frances Scott, Mrs Blathwayt, as heir to Dyrham Park. He is shown standing, facing the viewer, turned slightly to the left, wearing a black suit and white shirt, and holding his hat in his right hand. A red curtain is draped in the background.

Indigenous collection purchased by Ministry of Works in 1956 and given to Dyrham Park in 1961
