One of a set of six walnut and upholstered high back open armchairs, English, circa 1695 rectangular padded back with shaped moulded arms carved with scrolled terminals and held by horsebone supports. The overstuffed seat raised on conforming horsebone front legs tied by a double S scroll stretcher and baluster turned splayed back legs with further baluster turned H stretcher. Upholstered in a 20th century rose velour with tasseled fringe.
