Print, engraving, A Prospect of the City of Rome from Monte Gianicolo by Giuseppe Vasi (1710 - Rome 1782) In an oak frame. Vasi was responsible for the creation of some of the most important maps of Rome in the 1700s. This expansive, large-scale, bird’s-eye view of the Eternal City from the southwest, was Vasi’s crown achievement. It is known as: A Prospect of the City of Rome from Monte Gianicolo (Janiculum), or, in Italian: Prospetto dell'alma Città di Roma.
