Summary
Print; Engraving - Trade card late 17th century of Henry Walton, Locksmith of London. Copper engraving by B. Lemaire.Engraving of various locks and keys, with inscription “At the Signe of the Brass Lock & Key att the Corner of Newportt Streett att the Upper End of Stt Martins Lane are Made and Sould all sorts of Brass Locks for Chamber Doors and all sorts of Cabinete locks and all sorts of Locks att reasonable rate by HENRY WALTON.”MS note on back dated 2nd April 1694 (1699?) and includes a series of calculations. A printed label on the reverse of the frame - "Trade Card c.1700 of Henry Walton, Locksmith of London. The copper engraving is of superb quality. No bill, however, has been found to show that Walton supplied the locks for Dyrham."
