Summary
Dutch Delft. AJ mark. W & M on front. Urn part - The lower part of the body is in squat baluster form, the upper part flaring to a top, which has four scrolling straps, the whole set on a flaring foot. Painted in blue on the lower part with alternating panels of diaper and panels with tassels; the upper part of the body has two angels holding a circular cartouche containing the monogram RWMR; on the opposite side a martial trophy. both sides are divided by identical pairs of male herms holding garlands, with water cascading from masks and urns. Half a foot missing. See also DYR.C.63. Patricia Ferguson suggests they may have been two of three designed to go on the Queen Anne Bed.
